The second is this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'  No other commandment is greater than these.  Mark 12:31

I love the lyrics to William McDowell's "I Give Myself Away."  These lyrics are filled with a confession of love and adoration towards God.  It is an acknowledgement of our awesome Father.  And the lyrics also include feelings of love, adoration, desire, and submission that we should all have for God.

The bible says that we are to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.  But, we often misappropriate our feelings with people and/or things. We get so caught up in life and being everything to everybody that we forget about a very important piece of the puzzle and that is "YOU".  Without YOU there is no you! You must take care of yourself spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.  Never allow anything, or anyone to shape your life or disposition to the point that you can not move beyond it.  Not a man, woman, child, job, car, house, etc... (you get the picture) should put you in a place that you no longer think about YOU. The bible has commanded that you love yourself.

 Now, I am not talking about being selfish... and it becomes I, Me, My, or Mine.  But that you would stop and take into consideration the love the father has for you, who he created you to be, and the destiny and purpose for your own life before you decide that you are not worth anything, and give yourself away to the wrong cause. Stop always putting everyone's agenda before yours.  Don't become so thirsty for praise, attention, or inclusion that you sell your self short.

This weekend celebrate "YOU"!  It may be an evening out, a walk in the park, a bubble bath, a dinner with family or friends, or reading a book.  But set aside some time this weekend just for YOU!

God is our refuge and our strength; A very present help in times of trouble.   Psalm 46:1 Problems, trials, tribulations, and circumstances plague us all during our lifetime. The question becomes not  "if" they will occur but  "when"  will they occur. When I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in May two years ago, it was truly more of a trial than I had ever expected to experience. You see, there is no way to know in advance everything that we will experience in life.  But God knows.  There is nothing hidden from His eyes.  That is why it is of utmost importance that we cultivate our relationship and trust in God.  In the time of trouble, He will be there.
