Meditate: 2 Samuel 6:14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.
There once was a boy that had a beautiful bird. He kept the bird in a cage for its protection. One day the boy decided to take his bird to visit a friend. On his way, he met a man that was hungry and had no money. The man thought to himself, if I can get that beautiful bird from that little boy and sell it, then I can buy me something to eat.
He stopped the boy and began to befriend and question him. The boy told him he was on his way to visit his friend. When he asked about the bird, the boy became very excited. He loved his bird very much and the only thing he loved more than his bird was showing it off. The man told the little boy a little about his troubles. He said the only thing that would make him feel better was if he had a beautiful bird. That little boy thought for a few moments. He had his mom and dad at home and his siblings. He also had a warm bed to sleep in and plenty of good food to eat. He thought to himself, if I give him my bird to keep him company, maybe he will feel better. He said here Sir you can have this bird. I love him, but if it will make you feel better you can have him. The boy said, "This is all I have but I will give him to you." The man was moved with compassion and begin to weep. He said "Son thank you. In my life, everyone is busy and no one seems to care. What you have given me today has made me smile and feel better. So now that the bird is mine, I give him back to you! This is All that I have and I give him to you." They both smiled and the little boy continued on his journey. The man was grateful he met that little boy and often thought of him and smiled.
David adorned himself not with royal robes, but with a linen ephod. Often it is the simple things in life that makes the difference. David was a king yet along with the Levites in their modest apparel he began to praise God. Our worship is like a sweet smelling aroma to His nostrils. When we allow worship and praise to fill the air it brings change into our situation and makes God smile. Sometimes, we may not seem to have much to offer. But God will take simple, no make-up, hair undone, gown and housecoat praise and worship! What we have, let's worship and praise God. He is worthy even today despite what may be occurring in your life right now. He is still good and he is still GOD!
That's right... Go on... Turn the corners of your mouth up. It's been said it takes more muscles to frown than to smile.
I am smiling... God is Good. Regardless of what I face in life, HE is still Good, and He is God!
