Simple, but so POWERFUL!
Inspiration and Meditation
Listen to: Freedom -- Eddie James
Meditate on: II Corinthians 5:9 Therefore, whether we are at home [on earth away from Him] or away from home [and with Him], we are constantly ambitious and strive earnestly to be pleasing to Him.
As we celebrate FREEDOM today, remember those who have, what many would consider, lost their battle to sickness, infirmities, or disease on this side. But in reality, they have not lost but have truly won! They have received a greater reward than they could have ever hoped to receive in the earth. Those that die in the Lord have a great reward in eternity.
After receiving the breast cancer diagnosis, I was sharing a thought the enemy planted in my mind with my pastor. The enemy told me I was going to die.... My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 and I was diagnosed in May of 2012. He told me that although I was the one that had been in church, served faithfully when called upon, sowed finances, time, and energy into the kingdom,... I would be the one to lose my life to cancer. I prayed and cast down the thought but it was still a lingering threat in the back of my mind. One day, I shared this concern with my pastor. That's when Pastor Maurice Revell, shared a great revelation with me. It truly inspired me to Live Life on PURPOSE!
When we are sent into the earth, we are sent on an assignment. There is a purpose and destiny for each of our lives. If we look at the life of Jesus, He also came into the earth on assignment. He lived 33 years in the earth and when His earthly assignment was complete, He returned to His FATHER. This is Simple but so Powerful.
He encouraged me not to worry about how long I would live or when I would die... BUT spend time focusing on fulfilling my assignment in the earth. That revelation has truly blessed my life! Instead of focusing on cancer, life, and death, I choose to focus on fulfilling purpose and destiny in the earth.
I encourage you today to celebrate the lives and memories of your loved ones. Know beloved, that God had an appointed time for their return back to the Father. While in the earth, they were great parents, siblings, and friends. They were very dear to their family and accomplished many awesome deeds in the earth. We celebrate their lives and their memories.
During this season in your life, if you are on a journey to health and wellness, remember the words of my pastor and focus on fulfilling your purpose. In most cases, fulfilling your purpose will involve helping others. So, take your focus off of YOU and focus on how God wants to use you to help others. Remember: Every test develops our testimony! Every challenge builds our endurance. And every problem, gives our God and opportunity to show Himself strong on our behalf! He is All-Powerful! So, live each day with purpose and don't worry about when that day will come. Let's let Abba Father take care of that one!
