911 "Hello God, It's ME"

Inspiration and Meditation
Listen to:  I Trust You -- James Fortune & FIYA
Meditate on:  Mark 4:39-41 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still." Then the winds died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? do you still have no faith?" They were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and waves obey him!"

Many years ago, I got caught in a storm. I heard it announced on the radio, but I thought , "If I leave now, I can beat the storm and make it home." So, I began my twenty minute trip home. When I got half way home, the heavens opened and there was a torrential down pour. It was at night and the sky lit up with lightening as the thunder rumbled. Then, it began to hail. I found myself on a four lane, busy highway in the dark and I could not see. All I could imagine was a eighteen wheeler pushing me off the highway and down  an embankment to my death.
I was alone, and I felt helpless, and hopeless. At this time, I did not own a cell phone so there was no way  to reach out to anyone. In the midst of my storm, I became so engrossed by the thunder and lightning, the rain and the hail, and the fact that I could not see, that I believed for a moment the lie of the enemy.  All I could see was my destruction. I did not see myself making it home to my family, but I saw my name in the newspaper the next morning after being killed on Highway 321. In that moment of despair, I heard "You are not alone." I thank God for speaking to me by his spirit. I made a 911 call to my Father. I said, " God I need you. I am afraid and I don't know what to do". With tears streaming down my face, I quickly readjusted my thinking and began to pray to HE who commands the storm. Almost immediately, there was a break in the storm, and I made it home safely.
When the disciples found themselves in the middle of their storm, they became afraid. Most of us when facing sickness, disease, family problems, or financial problems have moments that we may feel helpless, hopeless or afraid. Often it is a result of "fear of the unknown" or "fearing that which you can not see." You may be experiencing those feelings right now. But,  Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real.
I encourage you to remember, that Jesus has power, authority, and control over whatever storm you are facing in your life. You are not alone; He is Jehovah Shammah which means He is always present with you. He will walk with you because of His great love for you! Trust Him to still the elements of the storm in your life and to bring you out to safety.
