Rejoice is a Choice
Inspiration and Meditation
Listen to: I Will Rejoice and Be Glad -- William Murphy
Meditate on: Psalms 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made , we will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it! The word rejoice in the Hebrew language means to go round about; to be excited to the point of trembling. Oh, if we could look at each day individually instead of a conclusion of all of our yesteryears and yesterdays. Think about it...If we would embrace each new day, what a difference it would make in our lives. Remember, rejoicing in the Lord is an action and a choice, but it is also a command. We can truly begin to rejoice when we are able to see God's mercy working in our lives.
In Psalms 118 the psalmist exalts the Lord for His mercy. He recognizes the importance of audibly acknowledging the goodness of the Lord because the mercy of the Lord endures forever. He invites everyone to join him in giving God glory for His mercy.
Mercy is the love of God holding back from us consequences for sin that we rightly deserve because of our willful acts of disobedience and rebellion. God loves us so much that He chooses Mercy over Justice.
We wake up everyday to a day of new mercies that is loaded with benefits. Psalms 68:19 Not because of who we are, or how good we are, but because of His grace and mercy. Therefore, it is better that we put our trust in the Lord than to put confidence in any man.
Beloved, I encourage you today to remember that we are always in God's hands. He created you and I and the world in which we live. He holds our world in His hand. Today choose not to focus on your problem, but take them to the problem solver. Allow Him to become your strength, song and your salvation.
Make a declaration that your circumstances will not overtake you and cause death in any area of your life. Declare " I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD. Psalms 118:17
Choose to Rejoice ...go round about sharing the goodness of the Lord, be excited about this day that the Lord has made. YOU are in this day for a God ordained purpose. Focus on fulfilling your destiny for this day in the earth and not on your circumstances. I often remind myself...."Life could be better, but it could be far worse". No matter what you are dealing with, or what you are facing choose "To Rejoice and Be Glad"! It will release you from depression, from stress, from suicidal thoughts, and will give you peace and joy!
Now declare to your circumstance today, I will rejoice and be glad! It is "A New Day, With New Mercies, in my New Season, in Jesus name! Hallelujah!
