Sedations
Inspiration and Meditation
Listen to: Nothing Compares -- Freddy Rodriguez
Meditate on: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, not things present, nor things to come. Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35, 38-39
On July 8, 2013, my family in tow, I went to check into the hospital at 5:00 am. Later that morning, I would go through a nine hour breast reconstruction surgery. I can't really remember a lot about the next couple of days. But on that day, I remember getting an IV, meeting the doctor, nurses, and anesthesiologist that would be with me in surgery and waiting to be rolled back to the operating room. I thought it would go like last time. I would say goodbye to family, they would take me to the operating room, and a mask would be put on and I would fall asleep. But this time was different. After my family prayed with me, the nurse said that she was giving me something to help me relax and that is all I remember about July 8, 2013.
I went to a place where I no longer knew I existed. I had no control of what happened to me. I was totally submitted into the hands of my medical team. When you are sedated, you are in a state of deep sleep. There is no waking up to readjust in bed or waking up to go to the bathroom. Your life is always in Gods hands, but during surgery, He allows others to assist in your care.
God wants us to submit our lives to Him and to trust Him. It is time to stop fighting, and to relax in Him and allow Him to work things out for our good and for His glory. Medicines will sedate you and force you into a state of physical submission. But, God is calling us to submit to Him in everything that we are facing. Because He will not overtake our will, this submission has to be a willful act of our own. Once you submit all to Him, you can trust Him to take care of you.
Beloved, I encourage you to submit what you are facing to God and find rest in Him. There is nothing that can separate us from His love. Not sickness nor disease, not financial problems, marital problems, or any other problem. God loves us. Right now, be sedated by His love and take sweet rest. There is nothing that you can experience that is too hard for Him. He is El Shaddai. He is all sufficient, all powerful, all seeing, and all knowing! Hallelujah! He will take care of you.
