MIRACLES STILL HAPPEN! "IT'S MIRACULOUS MONDAY" Elaine from New Hampshire shares her story!
2 Corinthians 4: 7 - 10 But we have this treasure in jars of
clay to show that this all-surpasssing power is from God and not from
us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but
not in despair, persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not
destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so
that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
Marvelous Miraculous Monday to YOU! I am on a mission to Live Life on PURPOSE and that involves completing the assignment God has given me. I am an advocate both in the spiritual and in the natural for women that have been diagnosed with cancer and other health challenges. I ask you to help me to fulfill this assignment by passing this blog information to other women. It is our goal to share words of inspirational encouragement all over the world!
Elaine's Story
Allow me to introduce to you, Elaine. Elaine resides in New Hampshire along with her husband. She has two sons and one wonderful daughter-in-law. She also has three awesome grandchildren. One thing that everyone knows about Elaine, and that is the she loves her family, especially her grandchildren!
Elaine was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in October of 1997. She says, "My life stood still for what seemed like forever. My surgeon suggested a mastectomy because the biopsy/lumpectomy came back positive." I did not give it a second thought. I wanted the cancer gone and if it meant to lose a breast, then so be it."
She went through surgery to remove her breast, followed by six months of chemo. The regiment of chemo made her feel deathly ill. Elaine said, there were moments she wanted to give up, but knew she couldn't. She had to fight, not only for herself, but for her family. With lots of prayer and encouragement, Elaine made it through! After chemo, she went through five weeks of radiation treatments. After the completion of all treatments, Elaine was cancer free for 12 years.
In July of 2009, almost 4 years ago, she received startling news. The doctors found Stage IV breast cancer located in her spine. Since then, Elaine has been undergoing cancer treatments. Yet, she remains hopeful and optimistic. Elaine's miracle is: Despite overwhelming circumstances, she is still here, still alive. She is able to enjoy parades, baseball games, and concerts with the grands. She can still embrace her husband and her children. She still enjoys cooking especially with the grandchildren. Elaine is still excited about life! She realizes cancer does not define her. She has cancer; cancer does not have her!
Elaine say the worst time in her life was not the cancer, but losing the youngest of her two sons in July of 2008.She said, " He is now with the Lord."
Closing Words
"There is always someone worse off than me. I believe things happen for a reason. Not sure what or why, but I believe God knows what is best for me. When I can't walk, He carries me..... Trust in the Lord and He will carry you too! Experiencing genuine joy and contentment when life is difficult is only possible when you lean on God's strength and not your own...AMEN Elaine New Hampshire
