IT'S MIRACULOUS MONDAY! Meet Lisa. Cancer metastasized to her neck and chest......
2 Corinthians 4: 7 - 10 But we have this treasure in jars of
clay to show that this all-surpasssing power is from God and not from
us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but
not in despair, persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not
destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so
that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
Marvelous Miraculous Monday to YOU! I am on a mission to Live Life on PURPOSE and that involves completing the assignment God has given me. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in May of 2012, God birthed a passion inside of me for women that are facing cancer and other health challenges. I am an advocate both in the spiritual and in the natural for women that have been diagnosed with cancer and other health challenges. Pink Treasures believes that although you may be on a journey to wellness, that does not define you. You are indeed a valuable treasure, and we affirm the treasure in you! I ask your help in fulfilling this assignment by passing this blog information to other women. It is our goal to share words of inspirational encouragement all over the world!

Today I introduce you to a person near and dear to my heart. This is Lisa and her story. Lisa began feeling a lump in her right underarm area during the summer of 2009. During her own examination, she realized there was no pain or discomfort. Lisa initially believed it to be a cyst or boil developing. This lump was directly underneath her right arm so she did not associate it with her breast. She thought it was a result of extra strength deodorant gone wrong. She had not had a mammogram, but did self exams monthly.
The lump did not come to a head as a boil normally would, but it continued to grow. In the next thirty days not only did it grow, but it also began to hurt. The pain became more intense each day. She finally saw an ER doctor where she was diagnosed with an illness she could hardly pronounce. He said it was a disease involving the sweat glands. She was given antibiotics and sent on her way. The next few days, as she faithfully took the prescribed medication, the pain became excruciating. At this point, she noticed a lump in her breast that she had not noticed before. She decided to make a doctor's appointment. The doctor examined her underarm and breast area and told her it may possibly be breast cancer. She told the doctor, it could not be cancer! There was no history of breast cancer in the family, and she had already been diagnosed with the sweat gland problem. She would have much rather received the misdiagnosis, than to accept that she may possibly have cancer. Lisa said, she was very defiant in the doctor's office because she refused to accept a cancer diagnosis.
However, in November 2009, Lisa fears became a reality when after extensive testing, she was diagnosed with breast cancer that had metastasized to her neck and chest. Lisa underwent months of grueling chemotherapy, a lumpectomy, and radiation treatments.
She said the worst part of having cancer was not having the strength or energy to interact with her granddaughter as she desired. During chemo, she was sick most of the time and had to force herself to eat and drink. When she started to feel better, she would have liked a faster hair regrowth process.
Lisa's encouragement to anyone on a cancer journey or facing any health challenge is, "Have a lot of faith in God, and don't give up! That's the only way you can make it."
Lisa is my sister, I love her dearly and she is a Pink Treasure. This is only the Part I of her story. God has shown himself strong over and over. Look forward to hearing Part II in the near future.
I am a Pink Treasure and I am Living Life on Purpose!
Love you to LIFE!
