A Trip on A Ship!
Luke 8:25 And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

Meditate on: John 1:11-12 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
One day Jesus and His disciples took a trip on a ship. The bible says, Jesus said to the disciples, "Let us go over unto the other side of the lake." While they were traveling, Jesus took a nap. While Jesus was sleeping, there was a storm on the lake; the boat began to fill with water, and they were in jeopardy of drowning.
Now come with me, take a moment and imagine that you are a leaf on a tree. You are overhanging a white water rapids body of water. One day, the wind was blowing extremely hard and you fall from the tree. As soon as you hit the water, you go under. Then you bob back up to the top of the water. UP and DOWN...UP and DOWN.... Then....A downward spiral...fear,... anxiety...Then, just when you think its all over, the wind blows you onto the shore and to safety.
The disciples were so afraid of drowning in the sea. They were being tossed two and fro by the wind and the waves like the leaf in our illustration. The disciples could literally see themselves going down a downward spiral of no return. BUT GOD!!!
Verse 24-"And they came to Him, and awoke Him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then He arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water; and they ceased, and there was a calm. Jesus asked them, "Where is your faith?"
Have you ever felt anxiety and fear like the leaf in the illustration or the disciples in the bible when facing adversity. In both scenarios, we see an adversity, fear, anxiety followed by peace and rest.
This is the example shown to us in the bible. We may face adversities, but when Jesus steps in we can expect things to change. The disciples were so amazed that He was able to cause the winds and the waves to cease. The bible says that He rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. Rebuked means to reprimand or reprove sharply. Jesus did not take it lightly that those He loved were struggling in the midst of their adversity with fear and anxieties. It was such a priority for Him that He arose from his sleep to attend to their needs. You may feel like you're going under, but let me encourage you cause, "Help is on the way!"
Jesus loves us. We are His children and we are a priority to Him. He will come to our rescue when the winds and rains are out of control in our lives. Put your faith into action and believe this is only temporary. You can speak from your mouth and rebuke your adversities. Speak to that cancer, or _______________ (fill in the blank) and command it to cease. Then believe God for peace, rest, and healing as he delivers you from your adversity. He will perform a miracle in your life!
