FAITH THAT "KICKS"!
Joshua 1:9 Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed, for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Tuesday's Inspiration and Meditation
Listen to: Joy, Joy, God's Great Joy Kirk Franklin (YouTube)
Meditate on: Psalm 30:5 His anger lasts only a moment. His favor lasts a lifetime. Weeping may last for the night , but joy comes in the morning.
Where ever you go in life, always know that God is with you. He promised to never leave you nor forsake you. When on a journey to health and wellness, there may be times that you feel as if you are all alone. There is nothing more painstaking than the feeling of fear that may overtake you when facing what seems like an insurmountable mountain of an illness.
There are many diseases and illnesses that the very name of the disease causes fear to arise. Cancer is a diseases that its name often shakes the foundation of the strongest of men. Even today, cancer is frequently associated with death. I met a lady recently that shared with me her cancer journey. On the day she received her diagnosis, she literally lost it. She said when her doctor gave her the results from her biopsy, she dropped to her knees and screamed from the top of her lungs. It was gut-wrenching fear! She was so overwhelmed by the cancer diagnosis, that she laid down and sobbed on the doctor's office floor.
When Joshua realized that Moses was dead, he was overwhelmed with the very thought of leading the people alone. He and the children of Israel wept for Moses for thirty days. Then, Joshua received a word from the Lord. God told Joshua, just as He was with Moses, He would be with him. He promised to never forsake Joshua or fail him. God commanded Joshua to be strong, of good courage, not afraid, nor dismayed.
I don't know where you are right now on your journey. Moments on your journey may even reduce you to tears. The diagnosis you're facing may seem scary. But know, you will get through this. Just as with the lady I met, your emotions may soar from unbelief, to fear, and then to faith. But know beloved, you are not alone. God is with you every day, and every step of the way. The bible says, many are the afflictions of the righteous, but God will deliver us out of them all. The lady I met went through her cancer journey with chemo treatments, surgery, and radiation therapy. Today she is cancer FREE! She has been cancer free for almost six years.
When her faith kicked in, her fear was kicked out. She began to face each day with faith instead of fear and allowed the joy of the Lord to be her strength. Her courage came from knowing that God was with her every step of the way.
And like He was with her, He is with each of us. Allow your faith to kick in, and kick fear out. Be strong, of good, courage, not afraid, nor dismayed for the Lord your God is with you.
